Pataki Gábor:
Stefanovits Péter
Although Péter Stefanovits (1947) has been active in a great number of essential innovations in Hungarian graphic art, he refuses to join groups or movements. He is a versatile searcher by nature; over and above his graphic art output he also paints, makes photographs, installations and stage sets, and keeps in lively touch with poets and theatrical people. Along with his preference for the absurd and the grotesque, he has always insisted on preserving the social dimensions of his art which have included his respect, never apologetic, for national folk art traditions as well as an attempt to try and reshape those traditions. Equally important has it been for him to try and demonstrate, some transcendent possibilities inherent in human existence.Price: 2500 HUF
