In terms of genre, the creative process of József Szurcsik (1959) cannot be shoehorned into any one category. His work can best be defined as that of a visual artist, and that is what he too declares himself to be. Besides his painting, his graphic art, and even in recent years his work as a sculptor, are just as prominent; but he has also participated in numerous Gesamkunstwerk initiatives and events with his performances.
