Eszter Csurka (1969) is a versatile artist. Besides painting, she is interested in various phenomena of visual art. Her performances and actions that can be classified as concept art deserve special attention, in connection to which her earlier spectacle theatre performances should also be highlighted. Recently, in addition to sculptural experiments, she has also been designing jewellery. Crossovers between genres and fields – integrating elements of photography and painting, digital technologies and manual image making – are naturally part of her art. One of the driving forces behind Eszter Csurka’s ambitions is the encyclopaedic, comprehensive formulation of expression in its totality.
