The driving force behind art of Ida Lencsés (1957) is tradition and the constant renewal which originates from, analyses and rethinks that tradition. Her art is grounded in traditional tapestry, and preserving the traditional ways of weaving is important to her, her continued innovative intention and her drive to sensitively express her thoughts on what happens around her, prompt her to seek ever newer techniques and genre-solutions. Her art is contemporary to its core: it builds on the past, draws on the present and carries the hope of the future.
