One of the most characteristic features of oeuvre of Károly Chochol (1935) is his inclination towards adaption, be it of his own work, of an other artist, or of certain tropes from the history of art. Despite several decades of constant experimentation, he managed to keep his original sensibility and expressive force in all themes and styles. In fact, the whole oeuvre can be seen as a chain of complex artistic discourses constantly searching and interpreting life.
