Szeifert Judit:
Dréher János
Assuming a key role in the works of János Dréher (1952) beyond paint is matter and accordingly textured surfaces. Like Dréher has said, his works constitute “surfaces with the function of panels, not unlike portable house walls”. János Dréher invites to an experience of continuous happening. To that end he employs concealment. Piled on top of each another, the layers reveal small details. The fragments of reality direct our attention to the things that do not appear in the pictures or which are incomprehensible or beyond reach. Stratification therefore presents the viewer the interconnections of revelation and concealment, and the dialectics of construction and decay in János Dréher’s painted time-memorials.Price: 2500 HUF
