Konok Tamás
The Kossuth Prize-winning painter Tamás Konok (born 1930) settled in Paris in 1959. Through long and consistent endeavour, he matured into a geometric abstract painter. He held his first solo exhibition in Hungary in 1980, since when he has maintained a continuous presence on the domestic art scene. His painting is characterized by a pure geometric language, the tension in relations between material, form and line, the fine balance of movement, rhythm, proportion and scale, the rich use of colour evoking the sensation of musical sound, and a heightened sensitivity to harmony. Thematically, his pictures address the philosophical and artistic questions of reality and the world at large, of the personal and the universal, and of space and time.Price: 2500 HUF
