Some of works of László Lakner (1936) can be associated with surnaturalism, others with pop art, photorealism, concept art, or scriptural art informel. In the later stage of his career more and more emphasis is placed on post-conceptual paintings – loosely geometric, and frequently based around letters or texts. His artistic output does not consist solely of easel paintings, but also encompasses sculpture, drawing, prints, book-objects, installations, visual poems, textual works, performance- and photo-based works, and experimental films; he has also enjoyed an outstanding career as an applied graphic artist. He lives in Germany since 1974.
