Péter Ágnes

Ánges Péter (1949) has dedicated her art to the service of knowing the world. Her working method is to reduce the phenomena of the world and her own experiences back to basic elements, all the way down to numbers. Her favourite materials are traditional (lost wax) bronze, iron and steel. Salt-glazed ceramics, wax, lead, rock, stone, straw and UV fluorescence powder are also used, incorporating light sources, sometimes programmed, directed at her installations. Her techniques comprise predominantly constructive sculptural processes, rather than modelling or carving. She frequently creates her plastic art solutions by polishing plane surfaces, as well as on a base of individual drawings or duplicated and computerised graphics and photographs.
