Zoltán Bohus (1941) belongs to the generation of artists certain members of which represented the Hungarian new constructivist movement in 1970−1980s. Geometric abstraction, seriality, symbol creation were determining characteristics of their art. Bohus remained faithful to these artistic principles later on as well, yet he created an individual style with his glass art. One of Bohus’ great merits is the fact that with his glass sculptures, he managed to blur the boundaries between applied and fine arts. His works prove that glass, too, is an appropriate means of conveying abstract ideas.
