In Csilla Kelecsényi’s oeuvre, old experiences, materials and meanings surface as if from an underground spring, prompting the artist to self-reflect and to face her works and herself with the greatest possible honesty. What is at stake is the experience of being – both through the intellect and the senses – and the act of shaping that into art. The path to the latter endeavour leads through well-structured systems and a multitude of tactile gestures. This is the artist’s statement of Csilla Kelecsényi.
